Be-Joyful

Tonya Holly

Let me first say Merry Christmas! I know you are very busy this time of the year so I'll keep this post short and sweet. For some, the holidays can be sad and lonely. Yet for others, it's a season of great joy.

Whether you are spending it solo, or with family or friends, its's gratitude that makes us joyful. For the remainder of the month I have a challenge for you.

At the end of the day, write down one thing that brought you joy. The simpler, the better. Just take a minute to reflect, for instance:

*waking up to laughter because the kids are all home

*sleeping in because you have a paid day off

*Grandma left you the rest of her sour cream pound cake

*the Ugly sweater party was actually fun this year

Have you noticed the common Christmas greetings are Peace, Love & Joy, The Joy of Christmas, and my favorite...Joy to the World. I encourage you to find joy in the ordinary this season. H. Jackson Brown Jr said this...

Living big and joyful and content is almost

always the result of our finding satisfaction

in life's ordinary day-to-day pleasures.

So let's wrap this up!

May your Christmas be joyful...

May your New Year be hopeful.

What we can do is to live out our lives as best we can with purpose, and love, and joy. We can use each day to show those who are closest to us how much we care about them, and treat others with the kindness and respect that we wish for ourselves. We can learn from our mistakes and grow from our failures. And we can strive at all costs to make a better world, so that someday, if we are blessed with the chance to look back o…
